The Negros Island Renal Dialysis Center is now ready to serve patients in La Carlota City, Negros Occidental and the neighboring local government units.
During the blessing and inauguration ceremony on Aug. 14, Jason Jeffrey Ferrer, a member of the board directors, said the establishment of the facility was the result of a collective effort involving the community, city government, and various supporters.
“What was an idea has now come into reality,” Ferrer said, noting that the project faced numerous challenges before reaching completion.
Ferrer, son of Fourth District Rep. Jeffrey Ferrer, emphasized that putting up the dialysis center was “not a one-man job,” saying it took the support of the entire community and the city to make the facility possible.
He also acknowledged the needs of dialysis patients, assuring them that the center would strive to provide not only medical treatment but also compassionate and dignified care.
“We will be here for you. We are for you, we are here to support you,” Ferrer said, adding that the center would do its best to help ease the suffering of patients undergoing regular dialysis.
Ferrer pointed out that dialysis is not a simple procedure as patients have to undergo repeated sessions that can take a physical, emotional, and financial toll.
He said the center aims to create an environment where patients can feel comfortable and relaxed, likening the facility to a “spa” where they can receive care in a more welcoming setting.
“We are here to give you the best and utmost care,” he said. “For us, you are not only our patients, but persons who have feelings and need help.”
Ferrer also highlighted the importance of having a dialysis facility in La Carlota City, saying it would spare patients and their families from having to travel long distances to access essential medical services.
He expressed his gratitude to the individuals and organizations that supported the project.
La Carlota City Mayor Jose Luis Jalandoni likewise thanked those who supported the establishment of the dialysis center, saying its opening would provide much-needed assistance to residents who require regular dialysis treatment.
Patient Joesal Clemenso shared that the facility would be a major help to dialysis patients, particularly those who previously had to travel to Bacolod City for their sessions.
Clemenso said the center would lessen the burden of waking up early and making the long trip to Bacolod while also reducing the financial and physical strain associated with frequent travel.
He thanked everyone who contributed to making the facility possible for La Carlota residents.
