Police seized P680,000 worth of suspected shabu and arrested two drug suspects during a buy-bust operation in Purok 3, Barangay I-Poblacion, Pontevedra, Negros Occidental, Oct. 16.
Pontevedra Municipal Police Station (MPS) operatives confiscated approximately 100 grams of suspected shabu, alongside the buy-bust money, suspected drug proceeds, and paraphernalia during the operation.
Police said the two arrested suspects, alias “Ron”, 60, of Pontevedra, was categorized as a street-level individual, and alias “Kiv”, 28, was a high-value individual from Hinigaran, who was released on probation in 2023, for an anti-drug offense.
The Police Regional Office-Negros Island Region alleged that “Ron” sourced his illegal supply from “Kiv”, who was present during the transaction, that was launched following a positive result of a surveillance, triggered by a confidential tip.
Both suspects are in custody at the Pontevedra MPS, and facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. | TMD
