The Himamaylan City Police Station acquired more high-powered firearms from the Police Regional Office 6 under the new leadership of Brig. Gen. Rolando Miranda.
Col. Leo Irwin Agpangan, chief of PRO-6’s Regional Logistics and Research Development Division, led the Dec. 4 turnover of 13 brand new Galil automatic rifles to Himamaylan City Mayor Raymund Tongson.
Tongson endorsed the firearms to Himamaylan City PNP chief Maj. Romeo Vargas.
The mayor requested the PRO-6 to provide the city police force with additional high-powered firearms to boost its peace and order campaign.
The firearms issued to the Himamaylan police were among the 200 Galil automatic rifles issued by PRO 6 to high-risk police stations in Negros Occidental and Panay provinces.
The Cauayan Police Station is also slated to receive a single cab 4×2 Toyota Hi Lux patrol car, regional police spokesperson Lt. Col. Joem Malong said.–GB
