A solo exhibition by Negrense artist Revo Yanson, titled “Inner Terrains: The Landscape Within”, is ongoing until Sept. 26 at the Orange Gallery, Art District in Mandalagan, Bacolod City.

The artworks explore nature not as external scenery, but as lived experience, the exhibit brief states. “These works map the emotional and spiritual geographies imprinted upon the self, treating landscape as a state of being rather than a fixed location.”

As the outer world is absorbed and re-mapped, nature becomes a mirror for inner contemplation and renewal. Recurring motifs of birds – unbound by species – serve as conduits between these worlds.

That act as quite symbols of transcendence, migration, and the fleeting grace found in the ordinary, inviting viewers to navigate the threshold between memory, longing, and the unseen, it added.

Yanson’s artistic foundation was shaped by his early involvement in the Concerned Artists of the Philippines-Negros, later known as Dihon Art Collective, where his works were aligned with socially-engaged themes and collective activism.

He has mounted seven solo exhibitions and participated in numerous group shows, both locally and internationally, including exhibitions in Los Angeles.

Yanson is a graduate of Bachelor of Fine Arts at La Consolacion College. He is currently the head illustrator of Atlantic Comics and K.O. Pow Studio, a graphic novel studio based in L.A., as well as an active member of the Art Association of Bacolod, one of the longest-running art groups in the Philippines. ||
