A Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) personnel died while two other individuals were injured in a motorcycle collision along the national highway in Barangay Alicante, E.B. Magalona, Negros Occidental on July 3.
Initial police investigation showed that a Honda XRM 125 motorcycle driven by a 25-year-old man from Victorias City was traveling northbound along the inner lane.
It then collided with a Royal Enfield 450 motorcycle ridden by a 32-year-old jail officer, who was traveling with a 29-year-old back rider.
The collision left both motorcycles damaged while the two drivers and the back rider sustained injuries.
They were rushed to Kaayong Lawas Medical Center in Victorias City, where the BJMP personnel was declared dead on arrival.
On July 4, an 86-year-old woman was injured after she was hit by a motorcycle while crossing the road at Crossing Payao in Barangay Bagroy, Binalbagan, Negros Occidental.
The rider fled from the scene of incident while the police recovered the involved motorcycle.
The victim was transported by personnel of the Binalbagan Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office to the Binalbagan Infirmary for medical treatment. | GPB
