Rainbow flags were raised as members and allies of the LGBTQIA+ community gathered at the Provincial Capitol Lagoon in Bacolod City June 27, to celebrate “Negros Pride 2026: FantaSiya”.

The attendees marched from the Bacolod public plaza to demand equal rights and social justice, and also called for justice for the “Toboso 19”.

Initiated by the Negros Pride organization, the event also featured drag performances, the Mx. Fantasy 2026 competition, and an anonymous queer storytelling.

“We don’t just push for the passage of the SOGIE bill; we also push for other things that intersect with it, such as climate justice and liberation of people from genocide,” drag queen Ghillean Pranz Fegidero said.

Fegidero added that the event served as both a celebration of community victories and a platform to advocate against discrimination and social marginalization.

Established by members of Tribu Duag, the Negros Pride organization has been staging annual Pride marches in Bacolod since 2019. | TMD
