The Department of Health-Negros Island Region Center for Health Development (DOH NIR CHD) said June 17 that it formally awarded the License to Operate (LTO) as Level 1 General Hospital to Congressman Lamberto L. Macias Memorial Hospital (CLLMMH), also known as Siaton District Hospital, in Siaton, Negros Oriental.
The awarding of the LTO June 15 marked a significant milestone for CLLMMH as it officially transitions from an infirmary into a Level 1 General Hospital, the DOH-NIR said, adding the license means expanding CLLMMH’s capacity to deliver safe, quality, and accessible healthcare services to the people of Siaton and neighboring localities.
CLLMMH becomes the fifth Level 1 General Hospital in Negros Oriental and the 21st in NIR, further strengthening the region’s healthcare network and improving access to essential health services, the DOH said.

The LTO was received by Negros Oriental Governor Chaco Sagarbarria and CLLMMH chief of hospital, Dr. Jenellie Faith Ozoa, from DOH NIR CHD director, Dr. Razel Nikka Hao, together with Regulation, Licensing and Enforcement Division (RLED) acting chief Mary Junillee Araño.
Also in attendance were provincial health officer, Dr. Liland Zoila Estacion, and Sangguniang Panlalawigan members Bruno Bouffard III, Peter Paul Renacia, and Carlo Degamo-Remontal, and other hospital personnel.
Sagarbarria stressed the importance of investing in public health institutions. He reaffirmed the provincial government’s commitment to improving medical services for every NegOrense, and commended the dedication of the hospital staff and administrators, saying that their hard work made the achievement possible.
Under Ozoa’s leadership, CLLMMH continues to pursue excellence in patient care, hospital management, and community health services, the Capitol said.
The awarding of the Level I LTO marked a new chapter for CLLMMH as it strengthens its role in providing safer, more accessible, and higher-quality healthcare services for communities in the southern part of Negros Oriental, it added. ||
