Police arrested a 52-year-old woman with 210 grams of suspected shabu, worth P1,428,000, in a buy-bust operation in Barangay 27, Bacolod City June 15.
The Bacolod Police City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) said June 16 that “Mary”, an unemployed resident of Purok Star Apple 2 in the barangay, has been tagged as a high-value individual and under the watchlist of the Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Council prior to her arrest.
Investigations show that the suspect allegedly served as keeper of the illegal drugs and distributed these to her trusted downline customers, the police said.
She was arrested for drug-related charges in February and was released from detention June 1.
CDEU operatives launched the sting at around 5:55 p.m. Monday and arrested the suspect after she sold a heat-sealed sachet of suspected shabu to a poseur-buyer, in exchange for P1,500 in marked money.
Also recovered from her possession were five heat-sealed plastic sachets, two large knot-tied plastic bags of the illegal drugs, and various non-drug items.
The suspect is detained at the Bacolod City Police Office Station 4, and is facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. | TMD
