Four gun-for-hire suspects linked to the fatal shooting of a woman on April 2 were arrested the following day in Barangay Taculing, Bacolod City.
A joint operation of the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) intelligence operatives led by Lt. Col. Albert Sy and Police Station 6 personnel led by Capt. Peter John Ramos led to the arrest of the suspects.
They were identified through their aliases “Anthony”, of Barangay Bata; “Erwin”, of Barangay Vista Alegre; “Noel” and “Jovito”, both residents of Barangay Taculing, all in Bacolod City.
The four were tagged by the police as suspects in the shooting to death of Romelyn Quiatchon at Purok Maabi-abihon in Barangay Banago last Thursday.
In a statement, the BCPO confirmed the involvement of the four suspects in gun-for-hire activities, and they had been previously arrested for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, and other crimes.
The BCPO also reported the recovery of suspected illegal drugs and two firearms believed to have been used in the previous shooting incident. | GB
