The Valencia mobile library reading center opened recently, marking another milestone in the town’s continuing efforts to promote literacy and encourage a love for reading among children and families.
The project aims to make reading resources more accessible while providing a welcoming learning space for the community, a press release from the local government unit said Aug. 1.
The municipality recognized the invaluable contributions of literacy advocate, Virginia Stack, whose vision and dedication helped bring the initiative to life, as well as the generous donors and community members whose support made the project possible.
The local government also acknowledged the continued support of Mayor Edgar Teves Jr., Vice Mayor Juna May Teves, and the Ipadayon TA Sangguniang Bayan Members for championing literacy and education initiatives in Valencia in Negros Oriental.
The reading center is open Monday to Friday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and welcomes children and families to discover the joy of reading in a safe and engaging environment. ||
