The Police Regional Office-Negros Island Region (PRO-NIR) on Monday, Feb. 16 honored four police officers for their exemplary dedication and outstanding investigative efforts in the case involving three policemen and a civilian killed by another policemen in Sibulan, Negros Oriental last month.
Conferred the Medalya ng Kadakilaan were PLt. Col. Edward Gadayos, PLt. Col. Lirio Coral, PMaj. Darlene Catacutan, and PMSg Mark Owen Abol.
The awardees are members of a Special Investigation Task Group tasked to investigate the killing of Sibulan Municipal Police Station chief Capt. Jose Edrohil Cimafranca, Senior Master Sgt. Tristan Chua, Patrolman Rey Albert Temblor, and Chila Mae Dinawanao.
The suspect, SSg Bonifacio Saycon, who is locked up in jail, faces multiple charges in court.
Through their exemplary professionalism, unwavering commitment to duty, and strong collaborative efforts, the team successfully resolved the case with diligence and integrity, the PRO-NIR said in a statement.
“Their dedication to thorough investigation, effective coordination, and pursuit of justice significantly contributed to the swift resolution of the incident, thereby reinforcing public trust and confidence in law enforcement,” it added. | GB
