The City of Talisay is holding the second Tanyag Talisay, a five-day enterprise exhibit at the activity center of Ayala Malls Capitol Central in Bacolod City, that will run until tomorrow, Jan. 17.
The expo is part of the city’s Empowering Enterprise Week celebration, and anchored on the theme “Crafted by Heritage. Powered by Innovation”. It is a vibrant testament to Talisay’s identity, honoring a rich cultural heritage while boldly embracing innovation and progress.
Led by Mayor Weng Lizares, the expo highlights the city government’s strong commitment to nurturing local enterprises, creative industries, and sustainable livelihoods, the city said. “More than a marketplace, Tanyag Talisay is a space for remembering, anchoring today’s creativity in Talisay’s proud past, while opening doors to new ideas, technologies and opportunities.”
Spearheaded by the Local Economic and Investment Promotion Office (LEIPO) under the leadership of assistant city administrator Ismael Penado, in collaboration with partner offices and stakeholders, the exhibit features 20 homegrown SMEs, startups, and local artists.
It showcases Talisaynon ingenuity, presenting products, services, and creative works that tell powerful stories of hard work, resilience, culture and creativity.
Beyond the exhibit booths, the five-day event is enriched with capacity-building trainings and workshops, led by respected artists and industry practitioners. These sessions aim not only to sharpen existing skills but to equip entrepreneurs and creatives with fresh knowledge essential for growth, innovation and long-term sustainability.
Marking another milestone in local economic collaboration was the presence and presentation of the newly-formed Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry-Talisay, headed by its president, Sebastian Antonio de Castro Ledesma.
He introduced the organization and delivered a message of support, reaffirming the Chamber’s commitment to champion Talisaynon enterprises, strengthen partnerships and support the city’s vision of heritage-driven and innovation powered growth.
At its core, Tanyag Talisay 2026 celebrates a city that moves forward without forgetting where it came from, where culture inspires creativity, heritage shapes enterprise, and innovation powers the future.
