Five persons died in separate vehicular accidents in La Castellana town and Kabankalan City in Negros Occidental on Sunday.
All the victims involved were driving motorcycles, police reports showed.
Two laborers, on board a black 125 Rusi motorcycle, were on their way to Isabela town after attending a party when they had an accident.
Investigation showed their motorcycle figured in a head-on collision with a black 125 Kawasaki Fury motorcycle driven by a public school teacher in the area of Hacienda Alipion, Barangay Lalagsan in La Castellana.
The three victims succumbed to head injuries.
Two other riders died in an accident along the national highway in Barangay 9, Kabankalan City.
They were on their way to Mabinay town in Negros Oriental after a drinking session, when their 125 Suzuki 125 motorcycle hit the rear tire of a parked Mitsubishi Fuzo cargo truck.
Both motorcycle riders died in a hospital, based on the police report. | GB
