Negros Electric and Power Corp. (Negros Power) continues to bring welcome relief to its consumers as it announces a 55-centavo per kilowatt-hour (kWh) reduction in electricity rates for the month of June, a move that directly benefits thousands of households and businesses across its franchise area.
For this month’s billing cycle, residential consumers will pay P11.14 per kWh, a significant drop from P11.69 per kWh last month.
This means a household consuming 200 kWh per month can expect to save around P110, providing extra funds for groceries, school expenses, or other essentials, Negros Power said.
“This rate adjustment is part of our ongoing commitment to ease the financial strain on our consumers. We understand the daily realities families face and we’re doing our part to help lighten the load,” it further said, adding that the lower rates in June was a result of strategic and efficient energy management of Negros Power.
The distribution utility also said the ongoing line rehabilitation and system upgrades are likewise producing tangible benefits, with feeder loss rate improving to 8.03 percent from 8.28 percent last month, indicating that infrastructure investments enhance operational efficiency and reduce unnecessary power losses, contributing to overall cost reductions.
“At Negros Power, we understand the pressure on household budgets that’s why we’re working non-stop to provide reliable, affordable power for every home and business,” the company added. ||
