The deadline for the filing of applications for business permits and licenses in the business one-stop-shop (BOSS) of Bacolod City has been extended until Feb. 15.
The Sangguniang Panlungsod approved Jan. 8 the request for extension of acting Mayor El Cid Familiaran, with a 10-percent discount for those who will pay their business tax in full until Jan. 20.
Those making a one-time payment from Jan. 21 to Feb. 15 will have no discount but will also not incur any penalty following the extension of the BOSS operation.
This year’s BOSS in Bacolod started Jan. 2 at the Government Center, from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m., Monday to Saturday.
Online renewal is also available via ebpls.bacolodcity.gov.ph, the city said.
Local government units are mandated to operate their respective BOSS to receive and process applications, receive payments, and issue approved licenses, clearances, permits, or authorizations.
It is mandated under Republic Act 11032, or the Ease of Doing Business and Efficient Government Service Delivery Act of 2018.
Mayor Alfredo Benitez had said that it is imperative for the city to simplify the processing of business permits by imposing a system where transaction time can be efficiently cut short. | CGC
