Gov’t employee, 3 others nabbed for illegal drugs

Four individuals were arrested in separate buy-busts in Silay City and Binalbagan, Negros Occidental on Wednesday (Nov. 27).

The operations yielded more than P136,000 worth of suspected shabu.

Apprehended at Zone 3 in Barangay Mambulac, Silay City was a 43-year-old regular employee of Silay City government, and two other suspects, who are jobless.

The police recovered an estimated 12 grams of suspected shabu valued at P81,600 and P2,500 in marked money.

The operation at Purok Daisy in Barangay Enclaro, Binalbagan led to the arrest of an alleged member of local drug group, who is a resident of Purok 5 in Barangay Aguisan, Himamaylan City.

His apprehension yielded eight grams of suspected shabu, with a market value of P54,400.

Meanwhile, a 35-year-old laborer was arrested by the police at Purok Tuboran in Barangay Oringao, Kabankalan City allegedly for threatening his son, who is a minor, with the use of a gun.

Initial investigation indicated that the victim was threatened with gun by his father, who was creating alarm and scandal, at the house of his uncle Michael Dayanan.

Dayanan sought the help of the police and barangay officials, who immediately responded, by arresting the suspect.

A caliber .38 revolver with six ammunition and a caliber .22 revolver with eight ammunition were also recovered by the police from the suspect, who is now locked up in jail.

The victim, who was reported to have been traumatized by the incident, is now under the care of the City Social Welfare and Development Office.

Meanwhile, an 18-year-old motorcycle driver was arrested by the police at the Eco-Tourism Translink Highway in Barangay Rizal, San Carlos City also on Wednesday.

While being requested to present his driver’s license and vehicle registration at the checkpoint area, the police recovered a caliber .38 revolver with two ammunition stashed in his motorcycle. | GB
