Cops recover 1 kilo ‘shabu’ in road mishap

Policemen who responded to a vehicular accident in Murcia, Negros Occidental recovered a kilo of suspected shabu with a market value of P6.8 million on Saturday.

Initial investigation indicated that the motorcycle driven by Carl John Arroyo of Barangay Villamonte, Bacolod City figured in a collision with another vehicle along Purok Bomba in Barangay Salvacion.

Responding Murcia policemen recovered two packs of suspected shabu, one near the bumper of the other vehicle and the other from the sling bag of Arroyo, who is considered a drug courier.

The recovered shabu reportedly came from San Carlos City, Negros Occidental, PMaj. Sherwin Fernandez, Murcia police chief, told Aksyon Radyo Bacolod.

Arroyo is now detained at the custodial facility of the Murcia Municipal Police Station.

Meanwhile, a former female inmate was arrested for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 in Barangay 27, Bacolod City also on Saturday.

Genelyn Aguas, 34, yielded an estimated seven grams of suspected shabu valued at P47,600, according to a report of Police Station 4.

Aguas was reported to have been jailed before also for the same offense.

Three persons were also arrested by the police at Sitio Acacia in Barangay Malasibog, Escalante City, Negros Occidental allegedly for engaging in a pot session.

Their apprehension on Sept. 6 yielded three sachets of suspected shabu worth P1,020 and illegal drugs paraphernalia. | GB
