Six teams out of the 21 that participated received medals and trophies during the awarding of winners of the SACASOL Into Sports Year III-Football Event July 14, at the SJRI Field in San Carlos City, Negros Occidental
SaCaSol health safety officer Joseph Nathaniel Combate and technical director Elvin Marcellana led the awarding ceremony, with Classico De San Carlos hailed as champion in the U12, followed by GPV FC as 1st runner-up, and Sta. Ana De San Carlos FC as 2nd runner-up.
In the U14, Tañon College FC won the championship game against Lycans FC, with the latter settling for the 1st runner-up honors, and Classico De San Carlos as 2nd runner-up.
Zach Betia, a 13-year-old player of Tañon College FC, said he was grateful for their win because they trained intensively. He thanked his coach and parents for the support, as well as the SACASOL and San Carlos local government for making the event possible.
The SACASOL Into Sports Year III-Badminton will be held this July 20-21, at the City Sports Park.
Meanwhile, the winners of the first Mayor Renato Y. Gustilo Grassroots Friendship Muay Thai Games were awarded July 13 at the Brgy. 1 Boxing Gym.
Gold medalists in the girls category include Ymbel Ewayan, Nathalia Marie Sevilla in under 6-7 years old, Kyllah Lacoto in under 7-9 years old, and Eva Celia Catague in under 12-13 years old.
For the boys category, Ken Andrei Almecion won in under 6-7 years old, John Robert Reducto in under 10-11 years old, Jeorge Rafael Maasin, Mc Raf John Ewayan, and Robert Alexander Mouer in under 12-13 years old, Earl Justine Samson and James Matthew Maasin in under 14-15 years old, and Ehrian Earl Sumbal in under 16-17 years old.
