The third straight week of oil price rollback looms, with gasoline likely to decrease by P1.90 to P2.10 per liter.

Oil companies announced over the weekend that diesel could also go down by P0.50 to P0.70 per liter, and kerosene by P0.60 to P0.90/L. The exact adjustments will be known May 13, with price movements usually implemented every Tuesday.

The Department of Energy said the price of Dubai crude has decreased by almost $1.70 per barrel. “Gasoline also decreased week-on-week by about $2.20 per barrel, and diesel and kerosene down by about $2.50 per barrel.”

On May 7, oil companies implemented a per liter decrease in gasoline by P0.75, diesel by P0.90, and P1.05 for kerosene.

The latest adjustments resulted in a per liter net increase of P9.25 and P4.70, for gasoline and diesel, respectively, since the start of this year, while kerosene logged a net decrease of P0.80 per liter.

The DOE Visayas Energy Industry Management Division, meanwhile, said it will conduct an onsite receiving of various applications in Bacolod City and Negros Occidental on May 27 to 30, at the Bacolod Express Service Office, 3rd floor of Ayala Malls Capitol Central.

These applications include the License to Operate for LPG refilling plants, dealers, and retailers; Certificate of Registration (COR) for authority to sell a registered LPG brand; COR of LPG delivery transport vehicles; COR of centralized piping system; and Certificate of Compliance for liquid fuels retail outlets, the DOE advisory said.

Receiving will start in the afternoon of May 27 and ends noon of May 30, the DOE said, adding that only applications with complete requirements, duly notarized, in original or certified true copy and valid, shall be accepted.
