A total of 132,515 Group 2 beneficiaries across the Negros Island Region have received P2,000 each, or P265 million in all, under the Unified Package for Livelihood, Industry, Food, and Transport Assistance (Uplift) program, the Department of Social Welfare and Development-NIR said Aug. 16.
It added that a 77.22-percent accomplishment has been logged against its target of 171,592 beneficiaries, with the 39,077 beneficiaries remaining to be served as the agency continues its payout operations in various local government units (LGUs) across the region.
Group 2 beneficiaries are those households “identified as poor or near-poor” through the Community-Based Monitoring System of the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA).

They receive P2,000 a month, from July through December this year.
Group 1 are those already enrolled in the 4Ps, or the Walang Gutom Program. They get a one-time P2,000 in assistance, credited straight to the Landbank or GCash account already on file, the DSWD said.
Group 3 are low-income SSS members, who will be notified of their inclusion in the Uplift assistance and the scheduled payouts through the My.SSS portal, or registered SSS email.
The DSWD-NIR said that after nearly a month of simultaneous payout activities, it expanded efforts beyond the designated disbursement venues, by doing house-to-house payouts to reach qualified beneficiaries who may face mobility, accessibility, or other challenges in claiming their assistance.
The continuing implementation of Uplift reflects the department’s commitment to delivering timely, accessible, and responsive social protection assistance to qualified households across the NIR, ensuring that government support reaches the communities and families who need it most, the agency added. ||
