EB Magalona’s 322 brgy, SK councilors take oath

A total of 322 newly-elected barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) council members of all 23 barangays of E. B. Magalona, Negros Occidental took their oath before Mayor Marvin Malacon in a ceremony held at the public plaza yesterday.

Each council has seven members.

In his message, Malacon told told them to serve their constituents well and support their respective punong barangays and SK chairpersons in implementing programs and projects that could benefit their communities.

“Set yourselves as good examples and be the solution to the problems in your barangays,” he added.

Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) municipal head

Pierra Fuentespina-Lamayo, and municipal police chief Maj. Kenneth Jay Gratones assured the barangay and SK council members, especially the first-termers, of the support and guidance of the DILG and the Philippine National Police, particularly in conducting trainings relative to their roles and functions as local officials.

The oath-taking ceremony was also witnessed by members of the Sangguniang Bayan led by Vice Mayor Eric Matulac, Barangay Kagawad Association of Saravia president Matthew Louis Malacon, and Fr. Ernie Larida, parish priest of St. Joseph the Worker Parish.

On Nov. 6, the punong barangays and SK chairpersons were also sworn in by Malacon. ||
