Four more local government employees in Negros Occidental tested positive for use of illegal drugs.
This was revealed Friday by La Carlota City Mayor Rex Jalando-on, who said that four employees of the city government, who are of permanent status, tested positive for use of the prohibited substance.
A total of 674 employees of the La Carlota City government recently underwent a random drug test at the City Gymnasium.

Jalando-on said that the drug testing was in compliance with City Ordinance No. 2922-011, that mandates a drug-free workplace or offices in La Carlota.
The positive results, however, will still be subjected to confirmatory testing, the mayor said.
If the result yielded negative, Jalando-on said the employees will still be assessed on their drug dependency, before undergoing a rehabilitation program.
At least 800 more La Carlota City job order employees are scheduled to undergo drug testing, Jalando-on said.
In previous months, 39 employees of the Silay City government and four JOs of Don Salvador Benedicto LGU, all in Negros Occidental, also tested positive for use of illegal drugs./GB
