Bacolodnons, who are recipients of the government’s sustainable livelihood program (SLP), received their financial assistance in a cheque distribution ceremony led by the Department of Social Services and Development, and city officials.
Members of the Mabandata 110 Unload Association received a check for P450,000, for the establishment of an enterprise in beverage wholesaling and retailing.
The South Women’s Association was granted P420,000 to support their mushroom production project, while the Mainuswagon Mavistafehan Association received P375,000 for their frozen food retailing business.
These grants aim to uplift and empower local communities, and foster sustainable economic growth and development, the city said in a press release Aug. 3, adding that additional support will be provided to the beneficiaries if they sustain their livelihood projects for three years.
The activity was attended by Councilor Thaddy Sayson, and DSSD personnel.
Meanwhile, 111 beneficiaries of the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) received cash aid ranging from P1,500 to P10,000, depending on the assessment conducted by social workers, Aug. 1 at the Bacolod Government Center annex buildding.
This is on top of the 73 Bacolodnons, who also received assistance earlier, to help them with their immediate financial burdens. ||
