Another severed right hand of a still unidentified person was found Monday, April 17, in Zone 3, Purok Ilang-Ilang, Brgy. Bata, in Bacolod City.

Initial investigations of Police Station 3 disclosed that the mutilated hand was placed in a transparent plastic bag, with an “Anthony ‘Tata’ Vistar pusher protector kawatan!!! Pang holdup imo ubra!!! Bulang pamore ah” note written in a bond paper.

The bag was discovered by tricycle driver Bonbon Jamandre.

The police said that Vistar is an intelligence operative of the Bacolod City Police Office, who is actively involved in the intensified campaign against illegal drugs and gambling.

P/Maj. Armilyn Vargas, Police Station 3 chief, told reporters that the message could be a warning to the person concerned.

As of this time, Vargas said they cannot yet establish the identity of the mutilated person, based on the severed hand found.

In January this year, two severed hands were found in Brgy. Banago, while a foot was dumped March 29 in Brgy. Villamonte, all in Bacolod City.

Mayor Alfredo Benitez has sounded the alarm over the dumping of severed human body parts in different areas of the city.

“Whether the mutilation of the body parts happened outside of Bacolod or not, the fact that body parts have been left in the city is alarming,” Benitez said.

He called on the Philippine National Police to immediately appoint a new Bacolod police chief, to address the security concerns of the city./GB
