Provincial Disaster Management Program Division (PDMPD) head Zeaphard Gerhart Caelian, who has been issued with a show-cause order by the Provincial Legal Office for alleged unliquidated cash grants and conflict of interest, is on his way out of Capitol.
This was confirmed Tuesday, Feb. 7 by Provincial Administrator, Atty. Rayfrando Diaz, who said that Caelian will transfer to the Silay City government, as the assistant city treasurer.
Diaz said that Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson has approved the request for transfer of Caelian to the Silay City government, which supposedly took effect Jan. 31.
Caelian, however, asked for a one-month extension to comply with all the documents required for his employment in Silay.
At present, Diaz said that Caelian is on leave.
He added that the complaint against Caelian is still at the “show cause level” and no formal charges were filed against him.
Caelian was earlier asked to explain the unliquidated cash grant of P3 million to the Amity Public Safety Academy in 2017, where he also served as a member of its Board of Directors despite being the PDMPD head of the provincial government.
Meanwhile, another show-cause order was issued yesterday by Diaz, this time, against former Isabela acting municipal treasurer Nenette Escarda, in connection with the missing P2.6 million in cash and P3.8 million in checks, of the municipal government./GB
