The provincial government of Negros Occidental has renewed the contracts of more than 1,600 job order and contract of service workers, for this year, said Provincial Administrator Atty. Rayfrando Diaz.

Diaz, however, said that the provincial government did not renew the job contracts of 20 job order workers due to poor performance.

Contracts that were renewed involved 900 JOs and more than 700 COS workers, he added.

Job order workers are receiving P481 a day, while COS get a monthly salary, based on their positions and salary grades.

Due to the implementation of the Personal Information System by the provincial government, Diaz said it is now easier to process the renewal of contracts, and also avoid the gap in the releasing of salaries of JO workers and COS employees.

In previous years, JO workers have to wait for three months to get their salaries./GB
