Three graduates of Colegio San Agustin-Bacolod and an alumna of Riverside College Inc. are among the 183 topnotchers in the Nurse Licensure Examination (NLE) administered earlier this month, the Professional Regulation Commission announced Nov. 30.
Richard Raphael de la Cruz and John Philip Tupas Rollo, both of CSA-B, landed in Top 9, with an 88.40 percentage rating.
Another CSA-B graduate, Lourdelyn May Mahusay Luga, and Carmen Angela Villanueva Dusaran of Riverside College placed Top 10 after each getting an 88.20 percentage rating.
Abigail Garganta Ramirez of Saint Paul University-Dumaguete (SPU-D) landed in Top 1 after scoring the highest percentage rating of 90. She led 182 others in the Top 10, with two landing in Top 2, six tied in Third spot, 14 in Fourth place, 13 in Fifth place, 14 in Sixth spot, 21 in Top 7, 33 in Top 8, 28 in Top 9, and 51 in Tenth place.
The Victorias City government, meanwhile, congratulated Victoriahanon Mary Bless Debuque for landing in Top 8, with an 88.60 percentage rating. She is a graduate of West Visayas State University-La Paz that also produced several topnotchers in this licensure exam.
The PRC said 18,529 out of 24,903 examinees passed the NLE given by the Board of Nursing in Manila, Baguio, Butuan, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Koronadal, Legazpi, Lucena, Pagadian, Pampanga, Rosales, Tacloban, Tuguegarao, and Zamboanga, with the result released in 12 working days.
The University of St. La Salle, meanwhile, is among the top performing schools, after it produced 169 passers, or a 98.82 percent overall performance rate.
CSA-B has 85 passers, for a 90.59 percent rating; Riverside 145 passers, or 86.21 percent performance rating; University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos, 36 passers, or 83.33 percent; and the Northern Negros State College of Science and Technology in Sagay, also with an 83.33 percent performance rating for producing 126 NLE passers.
SPU-D and Silliman University, both in Dumaguete City in Negros Oriental, scored a 100 percent passing rate each, after 50 and 126 of their first-time takers, respectively, passed the NLE.
Silliman alumna Angela Claire Nicolau Kitane also made it to Top 5 with an 89.20 percent rating, while schoolmates Von Joseph Virtudazo Serna and Amari Joy Obuyes Samson were ninth and 10th placers, respectively.
On Jan. 9 to 13, 16 to 20, and 23 to 27, registration for the issuance of the Professional Identification Card and Certificate of Registration will be done on-line, the PRC said, adding that the date and venue of the oath-taking ceremony for the NLE passers will be announced later./CGC
