320 modified mufflers destroyed in Victorias

Policemen destroyed 320 confiscated modified mufflers, with a market value of P619,500, in front of the Victorias City Police Station in Negros Occidental Saturday, October 1.

Locally known as “bora bora”, the modified mufflers were crushed by a road roller or pison.

Victorias City Mayor Javier Benitez, who supervised the destruction of the mufflers, commended the Victorias City Police Station, led by P/Lt. Col. Roy Rodrigo Gutierrez, for a job well done.

Benitez renewed his call for the public to respect the city ordinances and laws, as he reiterated his full support to the police force in the maintenance of peace and order in Victorias City.

During the event, traffic enforcers Oscar Jimenez Jr., Nino Roy Leonoras, and Corazon Gayotin were also recognized as enforcers with the most number of apprehensions in the implementation of traffic rules and regulations in the city for the month of September.

Gutierrez, meanwhile, warned those patronizing modified mufflers that there is no letup in their campaign against “bora bora”./GB
