The Negros Occidental Electric Cooperative’s residential rate this month decreased by P1.5593 per kilowatt-hour, or P14.9491/kWh from the P16.5084kWh in August.
Noceco general manager Ray Bustamante said the main driver of the lower electricity rates this month is the P1.2676 per kWh decrease in the generation charge, which moved from P10.2844 to P9.0168 per kWh.
“The reduction in the overall rates is due to the price decrease of P1.9365 per kWh from the Wholesale Electricity Spot Market at P7.9053kWh compared to its previous month’s cost of P9.8418/kWh,” Bustamante said in an advisory.

There was also a reduction of P0.3448 per kWh in the Power Supply Agreement (PSA) of Noceco with the Palm Concepcion Power Corporation. Bustamante said the current price is P14.5126/kWh from last month’s cost of P14.8574 per kWh.
He stressed that Noceco’s Distribution, Supply, and Metering (DSM) charges remain unchanged since February 2010, regardless of the monthly increase or decrease in the overall electricity rate.
Bustamante urged residents to conserve energy and to be aware of their energy consumption to avoid paying high electricity bill.
Noceco is servicing Pulupandan, San Enrique, Valladolid, Pontevedra, La Castellana, Moises Padilla, Isabela, Hinigaran, Binalbagan, Himamaylan, Kabankalan, Ilog, Candoni, Cauayan, Sipalay, Hinoba-an, and La Carlota City.
Meanwhile, the Central Negros Electric Cooperative said its 44th Annual General Membership Assembly will be held on Oct. 2, from noon to 5 p.m., at Acacia Hotel in Bacolod City.
