Two fire incidents occurred in barangays Villamonte and 6 in Bacolod City Wednesday, Aug. 31, and initial damage has been placed at about P1 million.
About P900,000 in damage was reported by the Bacolod Bureau of Fire Protection in the residential fire that gutted 11 houses in Purok Amor, Brgy. Villamonte, Bacolod, before noon Wednesday.
Chief Insp. Rodel Legaspi, city fire marshal, personally led the city firefighters in responding to the conflagration that affected 11 families.
The BFP said a concerned citizen reported the incident at around 10:55 this morning, Aug. 31. Legaspi raised the second alarm status at around 10:57 a.m., declared the fire under control at 11:20 a.m., and a fire out about 30 minutes later.
Villamonte barangay chairman Rommel Flores said he already ordered an inventory of the affected families, for them to avail of assistance.
Meanwhile, at about 3:45 this afternoon, another residential fire broke out in Brgy. 6 and initial damage was reported at more than P100,000.
The BFP is still determining the causes of the causes of the fires. / CGC
