3 killed in San Carlos ambush

Three men died, while their companion was injured, when they were ambushed by still unidentified armed men Feb. 20 at Hacienda Villa Lena in Brgy. Palampas, San Carlos City, Negros Occidental.

Two of those killed, identified as Andre Fajardo, 18, and Russel Bucao, 40, died on the spot, while Rudy dela Fuente, 51, was declared dead on arrival at the San Carlos City District Hospital, the police said.

The lone survivor, who sustained multiple injuries, was identified as Renante Chiu, 27, who is being treated in the same hospital, as of press time.

The San Carlos City police investigators are determining the motive and the identities of the gunmen, who shot dead three persons in the city Feb. 20.

Police investigations show that the four men were reportedly on their way to a cockpit, on board a white Mazda sedan, when they were waylaid and shot by the four suspects, who were on board another vehicle.

The suspects fled to unknown direction after the ambush, and the motive for the shooting was still being established by the San Carlos City Police Station.

Meanwhile, two other victims of shooting incidents Feb. 19 in Negros Occidental were also reported by the police to have died.

The lifeless body of Haidito Boca, 50, was found by bystanders at his sugarcane farm in Sitio Omot, Brgy. Santol, Binalbagan, Saturday.

Jelma Boca reported to the Binalbagan police that her husband succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds.

A farmer, identified by the police as Ramonito Mongcal, was declared dead on arrival at a hospital, after he was shot allegedly by Tito Osano, also on Feb. 19, in Purok La Plata 2, Brgy. Don Jorge Araneta in Bago City, Negros Occidental.

Mongcal, Osano, and Genesis Sarad were having a drinking spree prior to the shooting incident.

Sarad told the police that Osano shot Mongcal while they were on their way home. — GB
