The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) personnel received their COVID-19 booster shots at the BCPO Chapel, courtesy of the Bacolod City government.
The two-day vaccination started Jan. 13. It was aimed at immunizing BCPO personnel assigned all over Bacolod City, their dependents, and other household members, who wanted to avail of booster shots.
In coordination with the Emergency Operations Center and through the supervision of the City Health Office, the BCPO team of medical personnel, composed of registered nurses, led the vaccination of personnel, who were evaluated and passed the requirements for the COVID-19 booster.
P/Col. Thomas Joseph Martir, BCPO director, expressed his gratitude to the city government for the vaccination of the personnel.
“With this move to make the BCPO personnel immune to the virus, cases of infection are expected to be minimized and the spread of the deadly disease will be eventually stopped,” he added.
At present, no BCPO personnel had been infected with COVID-19 even though they are always at risk of infection as frontliners in the fight against the disease, Lieutenant Colonel Sherlock Gabana, BCPO public information officer, said. | NND
