The country’s supercentenarian, Francisca Susano, was laid to her final resting place at the Barangay Oringao Public Cemetery in Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental Dec. 5.
Lola Iska was 124 years old when she died in her sleep Nov. 22 at her residence in the barangay.
Mayor Pedro Zayco Jr. led Kabankalanons in paying tribute to Lola Iska, who was born on Sept. 11, 1897, adding that she was a source of pride and inspiration.
House Resolution 2207 proposes to give P1 million in assistance to her family.
Kabankalan City Administrator Sixto Garaygay said the city extended burial assistance of P10,000 and constructed her tomb. — MML
