Two persons were pinned to death after the motorcycle they were riding got involved in a multiple vehicle collision past 4 p.m. Nov. 6 along the highway of Barangay Pandanon Silos in Murcia, Negros Occidental.
Julieto Canete, 47, of Barangay Rizal, San Carlos City, and his back-rider, Jimmy Gadiane, of Barangay Prosperedad, also in San Carlos, died while being rushed by responders to the Murcia Health Center.
A Murcia traffic investigation report showed that the Isuzu Elf storage van, driven by Michael Cabugwason, 33, of Calong-Calong Zone 14 in Barangay Singcang, Bacolod City, sideswiped a Toyota mini-van in the same lane, and driven by Orvie Bautista, 25, of Barangay Estefania, Bacolod.
This caused the Elf truck to swerve to the opposite direction and hit the motorcycle of the two victims as well as the sports utility vehicle of Kenneth Vincent Gayo, 31, of Daan Banwa, Victorias City.
Cabugwason is now detained at the Murcia police custodial facility. — MML
