A total of 507 elderly from the 24 barangays of Bago City in Negros Occidental received Longevity Certificates and cash incentives from Mayor Nicholas Yulo and Vice Mayor Ramon Torres at the simultaneous distribution Nov. 4.

“This is the high time to show love and concern for the elderly, who reached the longevity age. How they preserve their lives is a source of inspiration to the younger generation,” Canayon added in a press release from the city.

This is the first time that the Bago City government has embarked on this best practice.

The CSWDO said that for those who were not able to avail of the award this year, Bagonhon families may submit the names of their elderly starting January 2022.

The CSWDO and the Office for Senior Citizens Affairs will validate the names upon submission of the following documents: Philippine Statistics Authority security paper (Secpa) copy of the birth certificate of the awardee, marriage contract of awardee, birth certificate of his/her eldest son/daughter– PSA SECPA copy, joint affidavit of two persons not related to the awardee attesting the age and residence of the awardee, who must be above 80 years old and a bona fide resident of Bago;

Certificate from OSCA Office that the awardee is a member of the Federation of Senior Citizens, certificate of residence from the barangay, and a photocopy of the OSCA ID of the awardee.

The Bagonhon centenarians will receive P25,000; those 90-99 years old will be given P10,000, and 80-89 years old will be awarded with P5,000 in cash incentives, respectively.

The program is exclusive to Bagonhon residents only, the CSWDO added. | NND
