Another police officer assigned in Negros Occidental died on June 26 due to COVID-19, deputy provincial police spokesperson PLt. Abegael Donasco confirmed.

Donasco said the 42-year-old cop was assigned at a police station in southern Negros and was admitted to a hospital on June 21, after testing positive for COVID-19 three days earlier.

Last year, a police officer assigned at NOCPPO also died from the coronavirus disease.

As of this time, there are 34 police personnel of NOCPPO who are being quarantined, because of the virus infection.

On the other hand, 36 NOCPPO personnel who fully recovered from COVID, received on Monday financial assistance from the PNP at Camp Alfredo Montelibano Sr. in Bacolod City. — GB
