More than 20 hours of power outage will be experienced by member-consumers of the Northern Negros Electric Cooperative Inc. this weekend.

NONECO announced tonight, Oct. 22, that there will be an emergency power interruption in some areas of Cadiz City, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 23.

It said the outage will be due to the continuing rehabilitation of the primary line, from Hda. Fe to Hda. Valencia, and affected areas will include barangays Sicaba and Cadiz Viejo, and portion of Caduhaan that are serviced by the 5MVA IPI substation.

Another emergency power interruption will hit the whole coverage area of EB Magalona, Victorias, Manapla, and portion of Cadiz, from 4:30 a.m. to 6 a.m., also on Saturday.

NONECO said the 15MVA Victorias substation is temporary connected to the Silay-Victorias 69kV line, while the 5MVA Manapla substation is connected from Cadiz to Manapla 69kV line only. Portion of the San Juan to Victorias line will be de-energized, it added in the advisory.

“The Central Negros Electric Cooperative has a scheduled power interruption tomorrow, from 6 a.m. to 7 a.m. which will affect our 15MVA Victorias substation. Therefore, we are scheduled for an emergency power interruption Saturday to facilitate the load shifting of power,” NONECO added.

On Sunday, the outage will be from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. and will affect the whole coverage areas of EB Magalona, Victorias, Manapla, Cadiz, Sagay, Escalante, Toboso, Calatrava, and San Carlos, the power cooperative added.

It said the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines scheduled the 12-hour blackout due to the shutdown of the Bacolod-Cadiz 138kV Transmission Line.
