Employees from the Department of Migrant Workers, Overseas Workers Welfare Administration, Social Security System, Philippine Overseas Employment Administration, Pag-IBIG Fund, and the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation also provided services and consultations to applicants to support employment processing.

Councilors Joseph Mark Antonio and Victoriana Cabili, CPESO manager Mariel Avenir, and DOLE Negros Occidental Field Office head Carmella Abellar led the awarding of certificates to participating employers and agencies, the city said in a press release.

They also turned over livelihood assistance cheques, ranging from P10,000 to P20,000, under the OWWA’s Balik Pinas, Balik Hanapbuhay program to three overseas Filipino workers, who recently returned to the country.

Abellar said the job fair served as a direct response to the community’s employment needs that reflected the government’s efforts through its partnership with DOLE and the city government, eliminating access barriers and bringing job opportunities closer to the people.

She cited the need to protect the welfare of workers through fair hiring practices and supportive local systems; thanked the city government for its active collaboration; affirmed DOLE’s continued presence in San Carlos as part of its commitment to serve and uplift communities; and encouraged jobseekers to remain kind, persistent, and hopeful in their pursuit of a better future.

Antonio, on the other hand, acknowledged the importance of the job fair as a one-stop platform that not only connects jobseekers to employers, but also brings essential government services to one venue.

He also emphasized the importance of helping families improve their livelihood through stable employment, even as he expressed support for initiatives that simplify job application requirements.

During the activity, the Information Technology and Computer Services Office officially turned over the CPESO Module to Avenir. Now integrated into the San Carlos Integrated Management System, the module offers a centralized digital platform to monitor employment data, manage records, and track vacancies, the city said.

The system enhances CPESO’s service delivery and reflects the city government’s commitment to digital innovation and efficiency, it added. ||
