It only seems like yesterday when a group of Bacoleñas banded together to form a Zumba group to promote health, friendship, and love of dancing.

This year, Zumba @ Manville celebrates nine years of dancing the fitness dance workout.

The first Zumba @ Manvillesession was organized by Maria Jesusa Moldes at Manville Royale Subdivision on June 14, 2015. April Ong became the very first trainer together with brothers Rannie and Ryan Jereza.

“We also do not forget the untiring support of Grace Espida Aguilar during that time, who has gone now in the presence of our Lord,” Moldes said.

She said that Zumba @ Manville continues its passion for nine years, and looks forward to more years of camaraderie.

“The group also thanks Roevelinda ‘Mommy’ Vasquez, who relentlessly gives her unwavering support by providing the members with colorful uniforms, food to celebrate milestones, and excursions,” added Moldes, who has been with the group through thick and thin.

Zumba @ Manville is divided into two sessions, the Monday-Wednesday-Friday group with Zumba instructor (zin) Richie, and the Tuesday-Thursday-Saturday group with Ong as the lead zin.

The six-day-a-week dance workout starts at 6:30 and ends at 8:00 every morning.

The group embarks on another year of dancing, sweating, burning off some calories, meeting the sunrise at Manville, having fun, and creating deeper bonds that go beyond Zumba, Moldes said.

Throughout the years, the members of the group have achieved fitness milestones and even addressed some health concerns through dancing.

“To those who have contributed to the nine years of existence of Zumba @ Manville, a big thank you. To the present members, continue to spread the love of dancing and exercising. The beauty of the Lord shines upon all; come and enjoy the day with sweat and smile,” Moldes said. ||
