Matriarch Olivia Yanson, or OVY to her family and friends, was appointed by a local court as the special administrator of the estate of her late husband, Ricardo Yanson, the Vallacar Transit Inc. (VTI) said.
Ricardo and Olivia Yanson founded the Ceres Liner bus lines, with VTI as the flagship company.
A Bacolod court said that OVY, as a special administrator, is in charge of the preservation and management of the estate of her late husband.
She led the annual stockholders’ meeting of VTI at its principal office in Barangay Mansilingan, Bacolod City, Dec. 4, where she, Leo Rey Yanson, Ginnette Dumancas, Charles Dumancas, Anita Chua, Arvin John Villaruel, and Daniel Nicolas Golez were re-elected as members of the company’s board of directors.
After the election, the board held an organizational meeting where LRY was re-appointed chairman of the board and president of VTI, while OVY, the co-founder of the company, was re-appointed corporate secretary and treasurer.
Despite proper and timely notice, the VTI said in a press release that stockholders Roy Yanson, Ma. Lourdes Celina Yanson-Lopez, Ricardo Yanson Jr., Juan Manuel Lopez, and Ma. Susan Yanson did not attend the meeting.
VTI said that despite all the turbulence experienced by the management in the past two years, the company remains strong and resilient as it continues to be steadfast in its goal to serve commuters.
The company added that it will continue to pursue its mission of providing safe and quality transportation to everyone.
“The newly appointed board is excited to see how they can continue to push boundaries to provide quality transportation to every Filipino despite the challenges of the pandemic,” the VTI board said. – GB
