After more than nine months of scientific work and researches, our doctors and scientists now feel comfortable about what they know about COVID-19.

Many people pinned their hopes on the discovery of a vaccine in addition to therapeutics. A few days ago, vaccines were rolled out of Pfizer labs for distribution to the different U.S. states and other countries and, in fact, administration (vaccination) has started.

People have hoped that this will mitigate the effects of COVID-19 in vulnerable populations. Then a few days ago, a new COVID-19 mutant (R.1.1.7) was detected in the U.K. prompting many European and some Asian countries to ban travel from and to the U.K. until further notice. It is suspected to be more infectious and fatal than the original virus until proven otherwise.

In the meantime, let us continue to celebrate Christmas with our immediate families while practicing recommended safety protocols.

Let us not pin our hopes on manmade solutions but on Him whose birth we celebrate this season. Let us pin our hope on the only one who is our only hope for now and the future: Jesus Christ!

Merry Christmas everyone! – NWI
