The Victorias police force topped the city police station category while La Castellana Police Station, led by Capt. Ramil Bustamante, was No. 1 in the municipal division. Patrolman Nico Fernandez was champion in the individual category.

Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson and Vice-Gov. Jeffrey Ferrer lauded the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office for staging the event which drew participation from police personnel and civilians.

“I hope that the event, aside from being an avenue to showcase your expertise, was able to refresh and further develop your proficiency in gun handling and accuracy,” Lacson said during the awarding rites.

Joining him at the closing ceremony were Vice-Gov. Ferrer and Col. Romy Palgue, acting provincial police director of Negros Occidental.

“To our civilian gun enthusiasts, I am certain that this is just the start wherein kind-hearted individuals and concerned citizens like you will be asked to contribute and support to the efforts of the government to address the adverse effects of this crisis,” Lacson said.

He also cited the selfless, courageous service, and commitment of NOCPPO personnel, under the leadership of Palgue, for their contribution in the campaign against the spread of COVID-19. GPB
