Two universities in Bacolod City produced topnotchers in this month’s Philippine Nurses Licensure Examination (PNLE), as per results released by the Professional Regulation Commission Nov. 29.
Ellisha Leigh Ibanez Perocho, a graduate of the University of St. La Salle (USLS), and Mary Catherine Seguiro Nakar of the University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos both landed in Top 8 with a rating of 91 percent.
The USLS, along with Colegio San Agustin Bacolod and Riverside College Bacolod, also posted passing rates of 97.32 percent, 94.12 percent, and 93.07 percent, respectively, much higher than the national average of 84.99 percent.

Chariemae Nunez Canazares of Cebu Normal University landed in Top 1 with a 92.60 percent rating, and led the 29,349 passers, out of 34,534 examinees in the PNLE administered in 19 testing centers all over the Philippines early this month.
Registration for the issuance of the professional identification card and certificate of registration will be done online starting on Dec. 17, the PRC said, adding that the date and venue for the oathtaking ceremony will be announced soon. | CGC
