Thirty barangays of Bacolod City will receive financial assistance from the City Government for participating in the street dance and electric MassKara events in next month’s revelry.
The Sangguniang Panlungsod of Bacolod, in its regular session this afternoon, Sept. 21, presided over by Councilor Thaddy Sayson, approved several resolutions authorizing the mayor to enter into memoranda of agreement with concerned barangay captains on the cash assistance.
Barangays 22, 7, Singcang-Airport, 34, 26, Alijis, 31, 27, Granada, 14, Alangilan, 12, Sum-ag, 35, Estefania, 40, and Tangub will each receive P200,000 for joining the MassKara Street Dance.
Barangays 5, 32, 39, 20, 1, 17, 3, 29, 23, 6, 16, 4, and 25, meanwhile, will each get P150,000 for participating in the electric MassKara.
Several activities have been lined up for this year’s grand resumption of the face to face MassKara Festival celebration, from Oct. 1 to 23.
The SP also approved a resolution Wednesday authorizing Mayor Alfredo Benitez to enter into a MOA with the Bacolod Yuhum Foundation Inc., represented by Pinky Mirano-Ocampo, on the 43rd staging of the world-renowned MassKara Festival./CGC
