Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson lauded employees of the provincial government and the USLS Law Class of 1999, headed by Provincial Administrator Atty. Rayfrando Diaz and Bacolod City Administrator Atty. Boyet Maghari, on their Juris Doctor (JD) conferment, held at the Capitol Social Hall in Bacolod April 19.
The JD diplomas were presented by Justice Edgardo Delos Santos, Atty. Raymundo Pandan Jr. – former dean of the University of St. La Salle College of Law, and Atty. Alexander Mirano.
Lacson said that he hopes that the development and change in the academic degree title of those conferred will give them fresh inspiration and motivation to use their knowledge to serve the people, the country, and God, to the best of their abilities.
“To all the non-lawyers who will have ‘JD’ after their names today, it is my hope that sooner, you will have ‘Atty’ attached before it,” Lacson said in a Capitol press release.
Also present at the recognition and thanksgiving program were Provincial Legal Officer Alberto Nellas Jr., executive assistant to the Governor and PIO OIC Charina Magallanes-Tan, and Provincial Tourism Officer Cheryl Decena, among others. ||
