Joselyn Camasura Makilan Jr., a graduate of the University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos (UNO-R), landed in Top 9 in the August 2026 Medical Technology Licensure Examination (MTLE), per results released by the Professional Regulation Commission Aug. 25.

Makilan Jr., from the College of Allied Medical Health Sciences, has an overall rating of 91.40 percent.

“Success is not final, and this journey was never mine alone. It was carried by the hands that prayed for me, the hearts that believed in me, and the God who never let go,” Makilan stressed.

The university garnered a 77.78 percent overall passing rate with seven passers.

The PRC said that 4,204 out of 5,634 passed the MTLE, and the results were released in five working days after the last day of examination Aug. 16.

Those who failed to pass the board examination for medical technology but had obtained a general rating of at least 70 percent can register as medical laboratory technician, the Commission added. | TMD
