Two teachers arrested in buy-bust operations

Two teachers were arrested by the police during separate buy-bust operations in cities of Himamaylan, Talisay, and Silay, Negros Occidental on Wednesday (Oct. 21).

Their arrest yielded about 18 grams of suspected shabu worth P176,000, and its paraphernalia.

          Nabbed during a buy-bust operation at Purok Masinadyahon, Brgy. Caradio-an, Himamaylan City, was Stephen Arricivita, a teacher of the Kabankalan National High School.

          PMaj. Romeo Vargas, Himamaylan City police chief, Arricivita, 40, is a High Value Individual drug personality. His arrest yielded 5.6 grams of suspected shabu, with a market value of P95,000, and its paraphernalia, P500 in marked money, P290 in cash, and a cellular phone containing text messages detailing illegal drug transactions.

          Arricivita is a resident of Adela Street, Brgy. 2, Kabankalan City.

          Another buy-bust operation on the same day in Brgy. Zone 2, Talisay City, led to the arrest of John Paul Insular, a TESDA( Technological Education and Skills Development Authority) teacher, and Joenefer Juson.

          Their arrest yielded five grams of suspected shabu worth P34,000, marked money of P500, and P1,080 in cash believed to be proceeds from sale of illegal drugs, report from the Talisay City Police Station said.

Two other Street Level Target drug personalities identified by the police as Marilou Eslabon and Alfredo Rombo, were also arrested by the police in Sitio Golf, Brgy. Guinhalaran, Silay City.

The apprehension of Eslabon and Rombo yielded seven grams of suspected shabu worth P47,000, marked money of P500 and P584 in cash, a police report said. GPB
