The change in administration is at noon today.

Benitez’s transition team is headed by Bacolod Rep. Greg Gasataya, who stressed that the objective of the transition is for transparency and the betterment of the City.

In his letter to Ma. Joy Maredith Madayag of the city Department of Interior and Local Government dated May 30, Benitez said his transition team, that also includes Councilor Al Victor Espino, and lawyers Caesar Distrito, Pacifico Maghari III, Karol Joseph Chiu, and Ting, expects that the appointed Local Governance Transition Team has already executed or at least commenced the inventory of immovable properties of the city, such as land, permanent structures such as buildings, infrastructure facilities and its improvements, and machineries made immovable, and properties such as vehicles;

Movable equipment, stocks, among others, office furniture, fixtures, and office supply; and ongoing projects, especially infrastructure projects such as roads, buildings, water supply and sanitation, and other development projects, to include data such as physical accomplishments and financial status.

The official documents and/or records of official transactions, meanwhile, should include governance assessment report for 2022, COA 2021 report, contracts and loan agreements, comprehensive development plan, provincial/local development investment program, 2022 investment program, comprehensive land use plan, organizational structure and staffing pattern, inventory of personnel by nature of appointment, ordinances and resolutions, and LGU devolution transition plan, among others, as well as concerned full disclosure policy documents.

Public service for Bacolodnons must not be hampered amid a transition of leadership in Bacolod, the incoming mayor said, adding that DILG Memorandum Circular 2022-029 mandates the smooth local governance transition today, June 30./CGC
