Trike driver shot dead by passenger

A 42-year-old tricycle driver was shot dead by his passenger along 13th Street Lacson in Barangay 7, Bacolod City, past 7 o’clock this morning, Oct. 22.

The victim was identified as Michael Hugo of Purok Tahong, Barangay 2.

His wife told police investigators that he left their house at around 6 a.m.

Initial investigation showed that the victim was ferrying a female and male passengers, when the latter shot him while going towards Barangay 7 from the main street of Lacson.

He was found a few feet from his tricycle, and police theorized that he was able to alight from it to seek assistance, but failed to reach a mini-store nearby.

He succumbed to gunshot wounds on the different parts of his body, and was found with no pulse and not breathing by a responding rescue team.

The police said the suspects fled after the shooting incident, on board a motorcycle driven by an unidentified person. — MML
