Street dance masks, costumes unveiled

The seven stunning and intricately-designed masks and costumes from the barangays joining the MassKara Festival street-dance and arena competition at the Paglaum grandstand on Oct. 27, were unveiled Oct. 13 at Robinsons Place Bacolod.

These vibrant ensembles of barangays Granada, Bata, 6, 12, 18, 21, and 35 were judged based on design, craftsmanship, and visual impact, the Bacolod Yuhum Foundation said in a press release.

The judges were visual artist and vice president of Mangkas Group of Artists Jo Aron Espinosa, renowned fashion designer John John Ditching, former MassKara Festival director (2013-2015) Rhoderick Samonte, now the director for Internationalization and External Relations of Carlos Hilado Memorial State University, Roy’s Hotel and Convention Center president John Victor Go, and Elektroika Diva creative consultant Ma.
